Melinda Dalton Hollingsworth's adventures as a child growing up in Mississippi often centered around finding "stuff" and assembling it into statues. She studied photography at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her process consists of adding paint to a plaster mixture and applying it to hard board framed from behind. She has developed a number of techniques using different thicknesses of the plaster mixture along with several application tools. Sometimes the dried plaster is carved for yet another effect.  She continues to explore new methods to express her creative energy. She now happily lives on Dauphin Island, a place she calls a "wonderland for the creative soul."
